How often, when observing nature, have you wished you could stop that "perfect moment" in time and capture it forever. Well now it is possible - you can retain those memorable moments using Leica's unique digiscoping kit.
Leica is the only optics manufacturer who offers a complete high quality digiscoping kit from the same brand; including digital camera, adapter and high performance spotting scope. Each individual component of the kit has been designed to work in perfect harmony with each other. With the digital camera mounted on the spotting scope you can achieve images of professinal quality, normally only associated with those available by using special telephoto lenses and very high end SLRs.
The LEICA D-LUX 4 digital camera is ideal for digiscoping. When the protection ring on the lens is demounted the screw thread is free; this can then be used to fix the camera to the digiscoping adapter. which ensures that the mounting is true and the lens is exactly central.
As well as its high resolution and the high performance image processing technology the D-Lux 4 has two more important digiscoping benefits: it has an image stabalisation system that ensures steady images and with only a press of a button you can push the ISO-factor to 3200. Using this fast setting makes photography in low light, even early dawn, possible.
The new LEICA D-LUX 4 digiscoping adapter connects the LEICA D-LUX 4 camera with the Leica eyepiece 25-50 WW ASPH of the LEICA APO-TELEVID 65 and 82 spotting scopes On one side the digital camera is fixed via its threaded screw and the other side it is connected to the eyepiece via a fixing screw. The new Leica-adapter is small, light and can be used smoothly as a one part piece of equipment .
The LEICA DIGITAL ADAPTER 3 is suitable for use with almost all digital compact cameras. Its cleverly designed adjustment mechanism ensures that the adapter fits perfectly on any digital camera. Numerous safety mechanisms also ensure that the camera body is provided with maximum protection at all times. The adapter is connected to the spotting scope by an innovative locking ring that securely holds and supports the camera and adapter. Its variable distance adjustment enables mounting on all Leica spotting scopes.
The two tripods Leica Trima 1 (compact magnesium tripod) and Leica Trica 1 (lightweight carbon fibre tripod) ensure a stable base for your digiscoping kit. As opposed to the classic magnesium tripod Trima 1, the Trica 1 is 15 cm higher at 175cm (without head) but weighs only 180g more and this low weight which will be much appreciated when carrying over longer distances.
The head of the digiscoping tripods LEICA DH 1 is characterised by its flexible movement in all directions. You can adjust the head to find the ideal observing position easily by turning the two fixing fixing screws which will fix it horizontally and vertically. This mechanism is extemely precise and will ensure you maintain your aim when in use.
This fast mounting assembly ensures a robust fixing between the spotting scope and the tripod head in a matter of seconds. The extra long swinging arm also ensures that moving the rig is child's play. The head can tilt +/- 90 degrees and has a load capacity of approx. 4 kg.
Also available as an accessory to this head is a "Balance plate", which distributes the weight of the spotting scope evenly (Order number 42225).
